Job Summary

Dissertation and Thesis Format Checker – University of Michigan-Dearborn, Mardigian Library

The Dissertation and Thesis Format Checker duties include timely reviews of submitted dissertations and thesis documents.  Candidate must be comfortable working with graduate-level writing.  Attention to detail is important however, the D & T format checker will not be responsible for editing subject content.

Duties: Check documents for correct format of margins, tables, figures, appendices, etc., as well as layout and pagination. Deposit documents into Deep Blue, the University of Michigan Institutional Repository. Candidate will follow all dissertation and thesis guidelines established by the Office of Graduate Studies.  

Experience in Microsoft Word required.   Desired: Experience in LaTeX.

You will be on call to work when dissertations and theses are due. You will need to be available:  March-May, June-August, October-December.  There is a two-week turnaround after the deadline submission date to complete the format checks.

The work will be remote. Hours are flexible within the deadline periods with an average of 10-15 hrs. per week.

Graduate student position - UM Dearborn student prefered

The salary is $15.00 per hour.
