This 1.0 FTE Project Coordinator – Specialty Pharmacy position supports specialty and community pharmacy initiatives by ensuring close communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities*

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plays a critical role in the administration, support, and active problem solving of special projects and/or ongoing initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and execution of special and periodic data reports, project plans and records maintenance.
  • Manages time in an effective yet flexible manner to meet department and executive sponsor deadlines.
  • Serves as the centralized resource and liaison for specialty/community third party pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and manufacturer contracts.
  • Maintains central files and versioning control of documents associated with third party payer contracts and othe regulatory agencies.
  • Creates reports and exports data from pharmacy dispensing software to report to multiple third party drug suppliers on routine basis based on contractural obligations.
  • Proactively updates licenses, insurance, re-credentialing, contracts, forms, etc. To ensure continued compliance with third party payers.
  • Maintains workload metrics for specialty and community pharmacy leadership including regular presentation of distribution and clinical metrics to assess monthly performance.
  • Works in collaboration with internal and external Michigan Medicine teams, individuals, and departments to ensure timely contract review, execution, and compliance.

Core functions

Core functions of the specialty pharmacy project coordinator entail supporting specialty (primary) and community pharmacy initiatives including specialty pharmacy data reporting to manufacturers; coordinating Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) specialty pharmacy accreditation maintenance and reaccreditation work; serving as URAC accreditation data validation liaison; maintaining ambulatory pharmacy credentialing and regulatory compliance; maintaining ambulatory pharmacy licensure, insurance, and DEA registration; and routinely monitoring and report specialty/community pharmacy workload to leadership.

The project coordinator will play a critical role in upcoming Pharmacy initiatives. In this regard, the incumbent will assist the Specialty Pharmacy leadership team in ongoing programmatic monitoring and administrative project support to ensure successful execution of work stream initiatives.

Required Qualifications*

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience.
  • Experience in pharmacy and payer contracting
  • Exemplary skills in time management and communication (written and verbal)
  • Strong, independent analytical and problem solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with large, diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience with task scheduling, data reporting, and resource assignment

Demonstrated experience with project coordination including tools to create, manage, and track progress

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
