Job Summary

The Anantharam lab is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow with with expertise in cell biology. As the selected candidate, you will join a research program aimed at delineating fundamental mechanisms underlying vesicular trafficking, fusion, and fission in neurons, adrenal chromaffin cells, and pancreatic beta cells. This NIH-supported research project will employ a combination of live-cell optical imaging methods and electrophysiology. You will not only be exposed to novel research methods for studying membrane trafficking, but will also join a vibrant medical school department that provides numerous venues for mentorship in teaching, grant writing, and outreach. Required Qualifications*

  • M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline (Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Physiology, etc.).
  • Good technical background in standard molecular and cell biological techniques.
  • A record of authorship in peer-reviewed publications. 

In order to be considered for this position, the applicant mast have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with optical imaging and image processing.

Background Screening
