Job Summary

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan invites applicants for a part-time LEO Intermittent Lecturer position in Business Communication for Academic Year 2021/2022.

Responsibilities*

Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate Business Communication courses in the standardized BBA Core Curriculum, with coordinated materials and assignments. Ross students are high achievers.  Faculty are expected to be responsive and engaged mentors who give meaningful individualized feedback and grade to a standard distribution.   

Required Qualifications*

Qualified candidates should have experience working in some facet of public or corporate/internal communication, with preference given to applicants who can show how this work fostered a positive difference in their company, industry, or community. A graduate degree in business, a communication field, education, or related area is required with demonstrated academic excellence. Successful candidates should have strong teaching skills as evidenced by prior classroom performance, with preference given to those experienced in teaching composition/writing.

Business Communication is integral to organizations of all sizes, growth stages and industries. The Ross school has a comparatively large BCOM faculty body and diverse perspectives are sought for inclusion into group teachings.  Candidates with expertise in composition, social and new media, visual communication, cultural communication, ethics/law and social justice, and journalism/traditional media are encouraged to apply.
