Dr. Lana Garmire's Lab in the Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics is seeking a Research Area Specialist Associate to develop and apply machine learning and bioinformatics method, visualization and algorithm to predict patient phenotypes using single cell, imaging, and genomics data. To collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to advance computational analysis in various projects (eg. imaging and single cell analysis in cancer or pregnancy adversity). This research associate is expected to submit at least one first-author high quality journal paper per year.
- MS degree in statistics, biostatistics or major data science major, with excellent programming skills in languages such as R and Python.
- 1 year experience in related field
- Being familiar with machine learning and electronical health record data for disease diagnosis and prediction analysis.
- He/She is expected to collaborate with others to develop new computational methods to integrate data stes, and expected to lead on projects, write and publish scientific results. He/She is expected to help with grant preparation and some other minimal lab managemental tasks upon assignment.
