Purpose The Stephen M. Ross School of Business is launching an Online MBA Program in September 2019.  We are currently seeking a part-time Instructional Support Specialist to support the MKT 718 Go to Market Analysis (Winter term 2022).  The online program will include both asynchronous (on-demand) course material and synchronous (classroom) sessions. This individual will support both the Faculty Lead of the course and students.  

Brief course description: This course focuses on managing the marketing research process which provides information as an input to marketing decision-making.  This requires an understanding of the components of the marketing research process, how to utilize it effectively to obtain relevant information, and how to integrate such information into the marketing decision-making process.  We will discuss both the "production" and "consumption" of information for marketing decisions.


  • Primary on demand contact for questions from students; provide one-on-one explanations of asynchronous course content and concepts via email, phone, or other remote methods.
  • Objective grading of assignments and exams.
  • Other non-instructional duties as determined by faculty.

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduate degree or extensive coursework in statistics
  • Intermediate knowledge of R programming
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a personal commitment to high quality work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop rapport with a diverse student population
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and regularly exercise judgement in setting priorities

Desired Qualifications*

Experience with online education preferred

Additional Information
This job posting is for a University of Michigan part-time temporary position. The duration of this position will be from mid-July 2021 through April 2022 with the opportunity for repeated employment each time the course is taught. Total hours estimated at 60-90 hours for the duration of the course, exact cadence to be determined by Faculty Lead.
