Responsibilities*

Major duties:

  1. Provide research assistance and design experiments, including animal surgeries; human and animal tissue processing; immunohistochemical staining of tissue sections; digital microscopy; gene expression by qRT-PCR; and cell culture to determine mechanism regulating liver regeneration and malignant transformation. Analyze data and prepare reports.
  2. Maintain transgenic and mutant mouse colony. Maintain lab supplies and stocks. Oversight of IACUC and OSEH standards for the laboratory.
  3. Participate in the group scholarly activities and staff conferences related to the progress of the project(s).
  4. Train and supervise part-time undergraduate research assistants and volunteers in a lab.

The applicant would be expected to demonstrate proficiency in lab techniques within the first 4 months of hire. The candidate will work both independently and in a team environment. To enhance the education experience, the employee will have an opportunity to participate in the weekly lab meetings and didactic sessions.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of experience in a biomedical research field are required.

Desired Qualifications*

Working with GraphPad, Photoshop, EndNote program experience and human live tissue, biopsy samples, histological sample preparation, and organoid culture experiences are considered a plus.

Background Screening
