CECS is accepting applications for a position as CECS Peer Mentor/Tutor for Fall 2021. The Peer Mentor/Tutors will be working with incoming CECS students to support the transition from High School to CECS. The expected time commitment is 6-8 hours per week.
Selected candidates will work with incoming students placed into Math 080 and Math 090, assisting the CECS Student Success Coordinator with enrichment programming, which will include leading engineering-based math-related projects and Math support in a positive, welcoming group environment both on campus and virtually.
Applicants must be current UM-Dearborn CECS Undergraduate students. Applicants must have completed MATH 115 or above and have completed at least one year at UM-Dearborn; skills in coaching/tutoring others in Math concepts, ability to engage incoming engineering students and to plan group activities.
Preference will be given to students who have participated in one or more of the following: STEMstart, CECS student organization, campus volunteer activities, student-centered campus job such as orientation leader, tutor, SI leader.
