Job Summary

To provide a broad range of professional/administrative support to the Frankel CVC Clinic/Call Center staff, including assisting the collaborative programs within the FCVC Outpatient Clinic.  Support includes oversight of all payroll, postings and HR communications; support for multidisciplinary clinics include: scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, recording minutes; processing payroll, other duties as assigned.  Provide backup project support to administrative manager.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage purchases within budgetary guidelines.

  • Coordinates the processing and completion of various site business transactions

  • Perform multiple tasks in a timely efficient manner with continuous regard to details.

  • Uses creativity and knowledge of Michigan Medicine resources to problem-solve.

  • Process posting/hiring paperwork, job data changes and other functions utilizing the MPathways system.

  • Process monthly and bi-weekly payroll and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy.

  • Manage clinical competencies in blue folders and license verification for licensed personnel.

  • Manage CME funding for appropriate staff. 

  • Process LOA, FMLA, tuition reimbursements/advancements.

  • Process concur reimbursements and monthly p-card transactions.

  • Collaborates with management/lead staff to facilitate various projects.

  • Serves as a positive role model and is an integral member of the clinical leadership team. Demonstrates proactive problem solving skills and takes the initiative to identify, act and follow through on problems.  Is able to consider the impacts of decisions/changes beyond the immediate work group.

  • Direct supervision is received from Administrative Manager of the Frankel CVC Clinic.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience (4+years) is necessary.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health related field, Business Administration or other related field.

  • Experience working within a large, complex health care setting. 

  • Familiarity with UMHS electronic systems.

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
