As a department within the School of Dentistry, Cariology, Restorative Sciences & Endodontics takes on a large responsibility for DDS training. Within the department, there are a wide range of specialty and research foci. CRSE dental teaching activities include cariology, general dentistry, computerized dentistry, endodontics, dental public health, geriatric and special care dentistry, and applied biomaterials.

Responsibilities*

Manage Student Lodging
- Assist with hotel rate/contract renewals in coordination with Admin Spec. and Procurement
- Manage hotel check-in/check-out process and schedule
- Process hotel invoices

Manage Student Travel
- Assist with UM vehicle car lease renewals in coordination with Admin Spec. and Procurement
- Manage UM car check-in/check-out process and schedule
- Organize UM car maintenance schedule
- Process student gas or mileage reimbursements

Student Rotation Schedules
- Assist with student external clinical scheduling assignments and changes
- Maintain student clinical attendance database
- Work with clinics regarding schedule changes

Office/Administrative 
- Process invoices from Grant Funded Programs 
- Maintain office supplies (ordering, inventory, etc.)
- Assist Admin Spec. with annual retreat and other meetings
- Maintain office records, receipts, etc.
- Assist Admin Spec. with course survey record maintenance
- Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications*

Two or more years of previous administrative experience.  Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with staff and a diverse student population.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work independently and in team settings; excellent written and oral communication; strong organizational skills; ability to effectively manage and prioritize varying workloads and conflicting deadlines; and, professional demeanor. Excellent attendance record.

 

 

Desired Qualifications*

Associate degree in management, accounting or related business fields or equivalent combination of education and experience

Scheduling experience; contract negotiation

Healthcare administration experience

Proficiency with Wolverine Access M-Pathways Financials and Physical Resources system

Computer experience with Excel and Google Suite (Google docs, Google sheets and Google calendar).

Knowledge of UM policy and procedures, including those relative to travel/hosting

This position is located in the School of Dentistry at 1011 N University Ave
