The Student Services Assistant provides general administrative and clerical support for the College of Business Student Services Office. This position is the first responder for incoming phone calls, walk-in traffic, and the Virtual Drop-In Queue. It provides customer service to students, employees, and visitors. Primary duties include answering phone calls, scheduling advising appointments, monitoring the virtual queue, and providing general information. Additional duties of an office nature may be assigned as needed. This position utilizes various software. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Training will be provided for Google calendar and University systems such as Banner and Salesforce.
The Student Services Assistant is expected to function within the established guidelines regarding office procedures and scheduling of work. The candidate must be punctual and dependable, be able to multitask, communicate effectively in person and over the telephone, and display appropriate office behavior. Familiarity with the UM-Dearborn website is necessary. Previous experience in an office setting is preferred, but not required. This is an on-campus position, located in 168 FCS.
