Responsibilities*

This role will work closely with the Office of Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar to gather requirements for changes to business processes and information systems. Serve as functional expert for Ellucian Banner (ERP) ongoing use and maintenance.  Analyze business and user needs and document functional requirements. Recommend updates and improvements and assists both departments with any annual changes to Banner as may be needed with a new academic year.

Support data-driven decision-making analytics for the Office of Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar to support the university's mission, vision strategies, objectives, and goals.  Write SQLdata queries and PL/SQL scripts to extract data from the data warehouse for reporting and system maintenance.  Translate data concepts into standard reporting, visualizations, metrics and KPIs using BusinessObjects and Tableau and/or other reporting tools.

Contribute to the development of a comprehensive, cross-functional understanding of business processes, production systems, university-wide data warehouses/sources, and Departmental databases. Participate in cross-functional teams for increasing the impact/awareness of BI projects, tools, and assist in the presentation/demonstrations of tools and BI solutions. Conduct routine business analyses and functional design activities for capturing, loading, storing, and extracting data across the enrollment management division.

Develop and document designs for new applications and existing applications.  Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancements.   Assist with the maintenance of existing software needs including SIS, DegreeWorks, EMS, Acalog, Curriculog, imaging and reporting tools. Implementation of any new products or tools utilized by either department. 

Develop and maintain Banner expertise focused primarily on STUDENT and FINAID, and utilize it to support needs of the department in achieving office goals as well as enrollment goals. Provide training to staff in the use of Banner and any upgrades or new releases.   Assist with  testing releases before loading into the production area.  Will include conference/training attendance.  Act as liaison with ITS and Ellucian for troubleshooting issues

Required Qualifications*

-Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

-Minimum of three years demonstrated experience in a related role supporting business systems and process improvement and design.

-Minimum of three years demonstrated experience in conducting data analysis and report creation as well as data storage and warehousing.

-Experience with SQL and at least one other Object-Orientated programming language (PL/SQL, Python, Java, etc.)

-Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to customers, peers, and team members.

-Demonstrated ability to gather facts, figures, etc. and present them in a logical sequence and understandable manner.

-Experience in the information technology industry demonstrating technical or business expertise, and resolution of complex technical or business issues.

-Demonstrated ability to learn new service technologies quickly and to understand technical information and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and   user-friendly language.

Desired Qualifications*

-Previous experience working with Ellucian Banner or other higher education ERP applications.

-Experience with one or more of the following data gathering skills/tools: (SAS, R, Python, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.)

-Experience with Oracle Database

-Experience with ETL tools and data integration and transformation.
