Responsibilities*

Designs instrumentation, theoretical models, equipment or other vehicles for data gathering and analysis. Investigates, modifies and applies new procedures, techniques or applications of technology, integrating new findings in field of study. Conducts research in area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research project. Designs and applies scientific and numerical models in research. Has oversight for development of data collection and instruments. Monitors integrity of data collection and use of protocols and procedures. Reviews and critiques reports and analysis of other researchers and conducts ongoing, periodic and final analyses of data, using specialized techniques and programming. 

Writes and collaborates with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings. Collaborates with other researchers on long-range plan for overall research project acting as expert in specialized area. 

Responsible for monetary expenditures of funds related to relevant portion of project. Leads research and project committees.

Responsible for administrative, financial, personnel and planning aspects of project.

Required Qualifications*

Experience in primary human cultures of epithelial cells. Experience with animal handling and surgery. Experience with basic histology and immunohistochemical staining. Must  have some expertise and experience with basic molecular biology and cell biology methods.  Must possess at minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher and 6 years of bench research experience.  Excellent attendance record.  Extecellent attention to detail.  Excellent communication skills.

 

 

Desired Qualifications*

Interest in translational research and clinical trials.  Knowledge of University of Michigan policies and prcoedures.  Knowledge of School of Dentistry policies and procedures.

This position is for the School of Dentistry located at the MSRB Building at 1150 E Medical Center Dr Ann Arbor, MI 48109

Additional Information

This is a term-limited position through the end of October 2021 with the potential to be extended if more funding is available.
