Job Summary

We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our research teams.  The research is focused on studying the molecular mechanisms underlying genome instability, cancer predisposition and immunodeficiency. Our overall approach is to study cell lines harboring patient mutations, and mouse models of human DNA repair syndromes.

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities include performing experiments utilizing molecular biology and cell biology techniques.  The individual will also be involved in management of mouse colonies and experiments performed on mice.  Some microscopy will also be involved.  Some computer based analyses of next generation sequencing (NGS) data may be involved. The individual is expected to perform experiments with high accuracy and reproducibility.  Training will be provided by current lab members when needed. This position will also involve general laboratory management and organization, ordering of supplies and maintaining compliance with safety and animal care regulations.

Required Qualifications*

Intermediate Level:

  • Associate degree or 3 or more years of experience. 
  • A minimum of one year of experience is required.

Associate Level:

  • High school diploma

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
