Application Instructions
Candidates should submit the following as one document:

3. One page statement that discusses/shares a recent experience; what was learned from this experience, and what you did with what you learned.

Work Location - This is an in-person, on-campus position for the School of Social Work.  The work location will be in the School of Social Work building (SSWB) at 1080 S. University, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1106.

Successful candidate will assist the School of Social Work Registrar providing administrative and technical support to that office, including: scanning paper documents to Perceptive Content; data entry and data verification in FileMakerPro and in the student and curricular systems within Wolverine Access; processing of educational verification requests for current students; responding to appropriate emails coming to the office group email as well as your own; mail retrieval, distribution, and recording; filing, copying, and other duties as assigned under the direction of the Registrar or Recorder. 

Successful candidate will also provide support to the doctoral office for the Joint PhD Program in Social Work and Social Science, including: providing support for the Supervising and Doctoral committees, including scheduling, setting up zoom calls, and taking meeting minutes; maintaining and updating student forms and guidelines; and providing enrollment support for students registering for dissertation and candidacy independent study courses. Other tasks may include providing support for recruitment weekend and student orientation events; drafting annual review and student progress letters; and responding to inquiries from current students.

Candidate will also provide significant support to PhD admissions: processing and monitoring applications and application materials; setting up application files for committee review; soliciting and gathering feedback from school faculty on applicants; and answering calls and emails from prospective students to provide application support and answer questions about the program.

Desired Qualifications*

Bachelor degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience; minimum of three years of academic administrative experience and database management, preferably in a higher education academic setting.; ability to balance multiple tasks with competing deadlines, demonstrated ability to pay strict attention to detail and exercise discretion in handling confidential information.  Experience working in a team environment, and the ability to work independently.
