The Michigan Ross Office of Development and Alumni Engagement facilitates meaningful, external involvement among a variety of the school's partners and mobilizing private, voluntary support from external constituencies in service to the school's foremost priorities. As part of this work, the department organizes and produces events, programs, and opportunities for alumni to remain connected with the life of the school.

The Development & Alumni Engagement Assistant will support the planning and coordination of alumni and development events; you will also identify and update biographical data on alumni to maintain a current and comprehensive alumni database and documentation of alumni interactions across Ross. You will assist with alumni engagement activities and recognizing alumni giving back their time and talent to the school and engagement opportunities. You will report to the Director of Alumni Engagement.

You Will:

  • Support events (in person and virtual) across the Development and Alumni Engagement team including alumni engagement programs, signature speaker series, private cultivation events (donors), stewardship events and other special events
  • Coordinate the project plan for each event to ensure tasks are completed across multiple functional departments.
  • Schedule event planning meetings, logistics and help prepare documents for briefings and successful event execution for the team
  • Manage event databases for tracking guest attendance, including input of guest information.
  • Create and report out participant evaluations and event surveys
  • Track alumni engagement participation and interactions with the school in the University's database of record.
  • Identify and update biographical data on alumni to maintain a current and comprehensive alumni database.
  • Help with our "Welcome Home" program for alumni volunteering with the school through electronic kiosk posters and gift distribution.
  • Be the main liaison with our Alumni Book Club for book selection, live book discussions and coordination with company
  • Manage members of social media groups (LinkedIn, AlumniFire)
  • Help with social media engagement (LinkedIn)
  • Help promote events and opportunities with Ross centers/institutes and programs to alumni

You Have:

  • Associate's Degree and 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience

Salary Information

The general salary range for this position is $40,000 - $43,000. You can expect to be paid a competitive and equitable salary. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position.
