A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Maria Sandkvist in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI.

Studies in the lab are focused on protein secretion and pathogenesis of Vibrio cholerae and Acinetobacter baumannii using genetic, molecular, cell biology and biochemical approaches. 

Required Qualifications*

The candidate must hold a Ph. D. and/or M.D. degree and have strong background in microbiology and molecular biology or biochemistry. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and should have excellent communication skills and demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications.

Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the US.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
