We are seeking a highly motivated Data Manager to join the Back and Pain Center research team in the department of Anesthesiology. This person will be responsible for data management, basic statistical analyses, preparing study reports, developing text for manuscripts and creating presentations to share study findings.

40% - Perform data management, data cleaning, and quality control (including complex survey building to account for skip patterns and changes over time; verifying participant information/identification and amending discrepancies; evaluating data to verify survey structure; downloading, merging/appending, and cleaning multiple datasets including variable scoring; preparing datasets for analysis). Generate documentation of the procedures performed.
20% - Manage study data collection platforms (Qualtrics and REDCap), including updating the survey tool, documenting changes to the survey, and preparing data downloads for records and participant follow-up.
20% - Work with Staff to develop and implement new systems, protocols, and project materials.
20% - Conduct analysis of study data (producing and double-checking descriptive statistics, conducting t-test and ANOVAs, and tabular/visual summarization of results) for presentations, reports, and publications.
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience with data management. Extensive experience building databases in REDCap and Qualtrics survey project building. Stata, SAS, and/or R programming experience. Strong data management skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication. Experience conducting systematic reviews. Additional attributes that will be helpful for this role include having strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to be flexible and take on challenges.
Masters degree or currently in a Masters program preferred.
