This job opening is for a Temporary Float RN position within the Central Staffing Resource Department (CSR).  The specific Cluster is the Adult Telemetry Units.

This RN would be part of our Central Staffing Resource Department in the Adult Telemetry Cluster:

  • 4B Adult Surgical Unit
  • 4C Cardio-Thoracic Unit
  • CVC 5 Adult Intermediate Cardiovascular Unit
  • 5A Moderate Care/Surgical Ortho Trauma Unit
  • 7A General Medicine/Telemetry
  • 7B General Medicine/Telemetry
  • 7C Cardiology
  • 8B Medical Telemetry 
  • Medical Observation Unit

**BASE RATE & SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS FOR CSR STAFF NURSE TEMPS**

Wage: $45.00/hr base rate
Evening Shift Differential is $5.00 per hour 
Night Shift Differential is $ 3.00 per hour
Weekend Differential is $5.00 per hour

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities of the Adult Telemetry Cluster

To provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to patients in each of the 7 adult units requiring cardiac monitoring. This includes caring for patients from surgical, medical and various cardiac stepdown units. To determine functional status and initiate appropriate action. Report significant changes in patient condition. Provide nursing care to patients including the administration of medications and treatments ordered and assist with diagnostic procedures. Assess and monitor patient status, including response to medications and therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Identify problems presented by patients and families and initiate appropriate intervention. Operate and monitor patient care equipment. Document patient care, including changes in patient status. Identify needs and educate patients and families about their disease process and the application of the therapeutic plan. Formulate individual care plans and evaluate nursing care. Participate in ensuring patient safety. Participate in health team activities.  Assist in research studies and quality assurance activities.

Required Qualifications*

  • Must have a current Michigan Registered Nurse License.
  • Must have at least two (2) years recent experience in the telemetry/stepdown areas as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be able to pass the CSR EKG Test with 80% or better

Desired Qualifications*

  • BSN Preferred
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Cardiology/telemetry/ICU/ICU stepdown experience
  • Demonstrates expertise in communication and problem solving skills within all levels of the health care team, as evidenced by interviews, documentation, writing skills, and references.
  • Experience floating to multiple units
  • Preceptor experience
  • CCRN or PCCN certification
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere utilizing effective delegation skills.
  • Takes initiative in seeking professional growth.
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office

Work Schedule

**Commitment is 36 hours per 4 week scheduling block**
12 HR BLOCKS AVAILABLE, based on cluster staffing needs. Current need is 12hr nights.
