Summary

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the world's largest archive of social science data, is now accepting applications for a Data Project Assistant to assist with outreach, website and social media support, and project management with the Resource Center for Minority Data (RCMD).

RCMD is looking for a culturally sensitive project assistant who can enhance current engagement and outreach efforts and works well independently. You will engage directly with researchers about depositing and using data at RCMD.

 

You will report to the RCMD Senior Data Project Manager.

Responsibilities*

Outreach and User Client Communication

You will assist with a variety of outreach-related tasks, including planning, and providing support for academic related outreach among varying audiences. You will also assist with data sharing activities including planning data webinars with data producers, promoting and hosting webinars, developing data release announcements, developing and distributing newsletters, planning conference exhibits; and create new dissemination-related resources.

Website and Social Media Content Support

You will assist Project Managers and work with the ICPSR web team to keep website content updated. You will also help plan and create data resources and other website content, web announcements, and Google Analytics dashboards for reports; assist us with expanding the Bibliography of data- related resources; and conduct periodic, regular website testing.

Project Support

You will assist us with a variety of project management tasks, including documenting project activities and creating progress and usage reports; answer user support inquiries and assist with project sponsor inquiries; assist with scheduling meetings, compiling call summary notes, and tracking project status. You will also work on a variety of special assignments.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree

2+ years (1 year experience for Senior Level) of related experience

Experience conducting outreach, including coordinating webinars and writing website or social media content

Project management skills

Desired Qualifications*

Experience with social science or education data or empirical research

User support or customer service experience

Demonstrated creativity and willingness to try new approaches to project work

Basic knowledge of statistics (e.g., has taken intro to stats) and statistical processing software such as R, SPSS, SAS, or Stata

Experience working in academic research

Work Locations

You will work onsite in Ann Arbor, MI. Hybrid options may be available.
