Summary
This position is located within a sports medicine research and musculoskeletal research lab that currently focuses on clinical trials, epidemiology, outcomes, and genetics research on patients with rehabilitation and orthopedic conditions such as rotator cuff tears that cause shoulder pain. This position will primarily work with a large clinical trial on rotator cuff tears called ARC: the Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Trial. ARC is a multi-site, national pragmatic study comparing physical therapy (non-operative) and surgical repair (operative) treatment for atraumatic rotator cuff tears. They will also work on cuffGEN which is a study on genetic epidemiology of rotator cuff tears.
Responsibilities*
- Work as a member of research team and provide expertise in research design.
- Use quantitative and qualitative research methods to participate in design, coordination, and conduct of research projects.
- Assist in designing methods to collect research data including procedures for collection, cleaning, and data management.
- Assist in preparing datasets for analysis.
- Assist in preparing data analysis plans.
- Use advanced programming in SAS and R with statistical expertise to manage and analyze data.
- Responsible for managing large and complex datasets.
- Perform data management and make clinical trials operations reports using statistical software.
- Assist in preparation of data analysis sections for manuscript, grants, and oral presentations.
- Collaborate with investigators to identify problems and provide statistical consultation including design of experiments, analysis of data and interpretation of results.
- Write statistical portion on manuscript based on results of analysis and address manuscript revisions based on reviewer's comments.
- Collaborate with investigators in grant development including statistical design of studies and preparation of statistical portion of grant proposal. Performs non?statistical components of consulting such as providing analogous examples and explanations using non-technical terminology and helping researchers formulate and clarify research issues.
Required Qualifications*

- Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.
- 3-5 years professional experience.

Intermediate
