Analyze trends and design process improvement initiatives for Satellite Support. Focusing on the front line ordering and processing of samples. As well as focusing on quality with Satellite Supports phlebotomy process and increase patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities*

  • Provide total customer focus to meet the needs of every customer, internal and external, medical staff, laboratory staff, patients and families.  Provide service recovery for those situations warranting intervention.
  • Improve first time quality for the blood draw station: Selecting and processing orders in MiChart, manual ordering of MLabs clients, accurate processing specimen tracking, customer interactions and service excellence.
  • Plans and coordinates skill assessments and training.
  • Enhance and improve the patient experience at the blood draw stations.
  • Be a visible presence to enhance the quality with front line staff.
  • Foster a phlebotomy team brand that aligns with Michigan Medicine vision and values.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to the Associate Supervisor.
  • Develop a train the trainer yearly blitz for competencies.
  • Along with the associates develop a computer training program.
  • Analyze Risk Pro reports to look for trends and propose solutions to ongoing problems.
  • Work with Physician groups on MiChart ordering issues.
  • Provide quarterly quality report.
  • Present quality initiatives at monthly CP QA meetings.
  • Survey patients on their satisfaction with the blood draw experience.
  • Temp Trak admin.
  • Complete daily QC checks in SOFT to ensure all POC testing is being resulted correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Use effective communication including written, verbal and information technology skills.  
  • Work effectively with others to accomplish goals.
  • Serve as a point person for items communicated by manager. Act as a liaison for communication concerns or problems.  
  • Various other projects and assignments.

Required Qualifications*

In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work, communicate effectively, recognize problems and take appropriate action, and work independently.  
  • Must be able to work in a diverse workforce.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience in instructional methods and or development of programs is desired.

Background Screening
