Responsibilities*
30% Coordinate the daily maintenance and housekeeping operations for a large academic department with space in several buildings; initiate contact, coordinate and follow-up with Plant Operations and respond to building and facility inquiries and problems from faculty, staff and students. Be a welcoming and approachable point of contact to field request from all of our building occupants.
25% Serve as liaison with other UM departments: IT-COM for phone and data installations, Key Office, including departmental key distribution duties and C-Cure building access. Moving and trucking. Property Disposition. AEC. North Campus Maintenance Region.
15% Perform regular inspection of building facilities, furniture and equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs; coordinate disposition of obsolete equipment and furniture and assist with inventory control duties over department equipment and furnishings.
15% Coordinate the implementation of small renovation projects, coordinate with Architecture, Engineering, and Construction, outside vendors, interior design, and maintenance work orders as well as maintain records of work. Handle event space requests, event coordination, and event support if needed, as well as reasonably supporting other groups using our spaces for events.
10% Assist with yearly Space Analysis duties, perform routine administrative and clerical activities including the preparation of special or periodic reports and fiscal records. Plan, schedule, and implement lab and office moves. Make and change room drawings and floor plans.
5% Maintain safety standards to assure compliance with University, State and Federal codes and regulations.
Required Qualifications*
Associate's degree in a relevant technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated experience planning/coordinating renovation projects and facilities maintenance; Knowledge of EHS codes and regulations; knowledge of University policies and procedures; demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications; good communication skills, both oral and written; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a large and diverse group of faculty, staff, and students; ability to work effectively as a team member.
