Job Summary
The University of Michigan has an available position of Product Manager in Ann Arbor, MI.
** Part of this job may require some work outside normal working hours to analyze and correct critical problems that arise in ICPSR's 24 hours per day operational environment.
Responsibilities*
Lead end-to-end product lifecycle.
Catalyze the product from concept through design, development, launch, & continuous improvement.
Define product vision & strategy.
Establish long-term product vision, roadmap, & success metrics that align with University's mission & user needs.
Translate strategy into action. Use insights, data, & feedback to inform prioritization and decision making in Agile environments.
Plan & lead user research, stakeholder interviews, & discovery activities to define user needs, value propositions, & design opportunities including workshops.
Partner with engineering, design, & operations teams to align priorities, improve workflows, & ensure smooth design-to-development handoffs.
Advance AI-enabled product designs.
Collaborate with teams exploring AI-led technologies, ensuring responsible & user-centered integration.
Required Qualifications*
A Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or Product Management or Information
36 months experience as a Product Designer
Position also requires: Experience must include:36 mos. exp. facilitating design sprints, collaborative ideation, & feature prioritization workshops;
36 mos. exp. working on Agile software development teams made up of engineers, designers, & subject matter experts
36 mos. exp. partnering with engineering, design, data, & operations teams to align priorities, improve workflows, & ensure smooth requirements-to-delivery handoffs within Agile software development teams
12 mos. exp. designing artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled products
Experience.requirements may be met concurrently during the same time period.
