Job Summary

The Physician Relations and Outreach Data Reporting Analyst is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The data reporting analyst will have a strong foundation in data analysis, reporting, and process improvement, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Responsibilities*

Data Reporting

  • Design and create data reports using reporting tools.
  • Use tools and techniques to visualize referral data in easy-to-understand formats for the physician liaison team and clinical leaders. 
  • Assist in decision-making processes by providing timely and accurate data reports.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for Physician Relations and Outreach call center operations.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for physician liaison team related to UMH-West and UMH-Sparrow. 
  • Stay updated with the latest data analysis tools and techniques.

Data Analytics

  • Use data mining to extract information from referral data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
  • Organize and transform referral data into comprehensible structures.
  • Use referral data to prepare forecasts and predict trends. 
  • Ensure data integrity by cleaning and validating data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and uniformity
  • Transform raw data into understandable and actionable information
  • Identify patterns and trends within data sets.
  • Work with senior analyst to determine and implement the best techniques for data analysis.
  • Present data findings to stakeholders in clear, concise formats that support informed decision-making.

Project Management

  • Manage and distribute fax broadcast messages for the physician liaison team.
  • Pull provider demographic information for targeted geographic regions. 
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
     

Supervision Received

Direction is received from the Physician Relations and Outreach Senior Business Analyst. 

Required Qualifications*

  • A degree in Health Care Administration or Health Informatics.
  • Ability to research, understand and explain healthcare services volume, utilization, market data, and physician referral patterns.
  • Familiar with Customer Relations Management (CRM) platforms.
  • Familiar with CRM reporting tools and databases.  
  • Skills to employ technologies effectively and proficiency.
  • Proficient experience with use of MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and Health Information Exchange systems.
  • Experience with interacting with hospitals and providers. 
  • Flexible as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.   
  • Must be highly professional in appearance, tone, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
