Summary

The Division of Pediatric Psychology at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, University of Michigan Health invites applications for a pediatric psychology faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan Medical School. We are seeking a pediatric psychologist to join the Comprehensive Pediatric Diabetes Program. Our multidisciplinary team evaluates approximately 120-150 newly diagnosed children each year and provides ongoing care to more than 1500 children and adolescents with diabetes. Clinical effort will be directed toward providing behavioral health services to youth with diabetes during routine outpatient, multidisciplinary clinic visits, inpatient admissions at the time of initial diagnosis or disease exacerbation, and through the Pediatric Psychology outpatient clinic, as indicated. Based on the background of the candidate, effort will be allocated to allow opportunity to engage in extramurally funded research/scholarly activity that aligns with the overall objectives and activities of the Division of Pediatric Psychology, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, and the Elizabeth Weiser Caswell Diabetes Institute

The administrative home of the successful candidate would be the Division of Pediatric Psychology, which is comprised of 20 faculty who are fully integrated into pediatric subspecialty areas, and have close and supportive working relationships with both community pediatricians and hospital-based physician specialists.  Supervision and training for pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellows, interns, advanced practicum students, pediatric house officers, and medical students is expected.  This position is largely clinical in nature,

Required Qualifications*

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree from an APA/CPA-accredited program and internship, postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology, and be licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in the state of Michigan. Successful applicants will have clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families living with diabetes. Experience in program development, implementation, and clinical research is also desired. Faculty rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
