Summary

The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan Medical School (Ann Arbor) is seeking a qualified individual to manage a research laboratory.

Responsibilities*

Provides routine to moderately complex technical support for a research facility. Collects, analyzes, and processes research data. Performs a variety of tests, using both routine and special techniques and methods. Assists in report writing. Sets up equipment and materials for course instruction. Performs routine library work, including finding literature and copying articles.

Required Qualifications*

  • Suitable applicant should have a biological sciences-related BS degree. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills contributing to a strong team environment are required.
  • Attention to detail, along with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, are also important qualities for this position.
     

Desired Qualifications*

  • Some level of background in biochemistry, cell biology, or virology, are desired for this position.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
