Responsibilities*

Basic Function and Responsibilities
To provide excellent clinical and administrative support in Radiation Oncology clinical setting. 

  • Ensure HDR procedure coverage. 
  • Taking and recording vital signs and collecting/processing specimens in point-of-care testing labs.
  • Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas according to approved physician-delegated protocols and standing orders. 
  • Maintain in basket messaging for provider messages, medication refills, patient portal messaging, etc..
  • Obtains and records accurate/pertinent intake information that includes preparing medical information and reports, medical history, medication information, allergies, surgical history, etc..
  • Efficiently and effectively prepare, stock and organize clinic exam rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment. 
  • Serves as a chaperone during sensitive examinations.
  • Monitor patient flow and notify patients/families of schedule or provider delays.
  • Preform other assignments such as assisting with closing processes. 
  • Prepare, complete forms, and ensure patients are given appropriate paperwork. 
  • Support virtual care appointments as applicable. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task independently. 
  • Maintains effective, collaborative relationships with other ACUs. 

Required Qualifications*

  •  High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an equivalent combination of education and 3-4 years of Medical Assistant experience. 
  • Preceptor status.
  • MiChart Experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Excellent technical skills: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

Work Schedule

  • Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch.
