Summary

This position is responsible for participating in various operational processes at HomeMed and will participate and assist in the provision of daily pharmacy operations, including clinical drug monitoring data gathering, patient and clinician follow up, prescription order entry, electronic database management, pharmaceutical admixture, coordination and order entry of patient supply and equipment needs, order packaging and shipping, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care for all patient age groups. Will interact with various pharmacists, nurses and dietitians and will have exposure to and training for interdisciplinary professional practice in a home infusion pharmacy program. Applicant must be enrolled in the College of Pharmacy.

Required Qualifications*

  • Education: Enrolled in the College of Pharmacy and actively pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Licensure as a Pharmacy Intern with the State of Michigan
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to provide compassionate and appropriate customer service in a healthcare setting. 
  • Ability to document in the electronic health record in a clear, concise, and professional manner. 
  • Desired experience reading and interpreting drug information resources.

Desired Qualifications*

Proficient in operating within the Windows environment with experience in use of the following software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access

Work Schedule

8.0 to 29.0 hours per week. A minimum of 8 hours per month during the school year. Days only with rotating shift between 8am & 7pm Monday through Friday. Some weekend shifts will be necessary. Holidays are optional. Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
