Summary

The Research Program on Cognition and Neuromodulation Based Interventions is seeking positive, highly motivated candidates who possesses the skills described below to support faculty, study staff, and trainees.  The program's mission is to identify and provide effective non- pharmacological treatments for persons with cognitive impairment and neurological disease.  We focus on methods to assist older adults with a variety of cognitive impairments, utilizing neuropsychological theory, modern neuroimaging methods and a range of non-pharmacological treatments, such as cognitive rehabilitation and brain stimulation.   

We are seeking two full-time Research Assistants who will assist in clinical research and related projects.  It is expected that the successful candidate will be trained to administer and score standardized neuropsychological tests to research participants, memory rehabilitation and/or non-invasive bran stimulations.  The candidate will handle other scientific administration and clerical duties as directed to support research projects.

Responsibilities*

  • Screen and recruit study participants
  • Enroll and conduct informed consent process
  • Administer neuropsychological testing or neuromodulation
  • Enter data into secure database
  • Transport participants, as necessary, to support study needs
  • Act as liaison with other study teams
  • Other duties as needed to support the Research Program Manager/Director and supported studies

Required Qualifications*

To be considered for this position, all applicants must have: 

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. 
  • The ability to multitask as well as work under time constraints and deadlines. 
  • Outstanding organizational and record-keepings skills with meticulous attention to detail. 
  • The ability to problem-solve and establish timelines and priorities.
  • The flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary to support the program. 
  • An excellent driving record, and reliable transportation. Local travel will be expected as part of this role. 
  • Fluency in English. 

To be considered for this position at the Research Technician Intermediate level, applicants must also have: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • One or more years of research experience. 

To be considered for this position at the Research Technician Associate level, applicants must also have: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications*

  • Proficiency in neuropsychological test administration and scoring or experience in the administration of tDCS. 
  • Experience working with older adults and persons with cognitive impairment
  • Knowledge of the greater Detroit and Ann Arbor area.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, Day Shift with occasional weekends as needed.

Background Screening
