Summary

The department of Neurosurgery is seeking two additional Research Fellow who will be responsible for building the infrastructure of a new lab. This requires strong familiarity with real-time ML for brain machine interfaces and existing previous experience using these systems. This also requires experience with FDA and IRB regulatory processes for implanted neurological devices. The candidate will work with a team of clinicians, postdoctoral/doctoral students, medical students, and research scientists to generate and publish high-impact machine learning research.

  • Collection, curation, and maintenance of neural datasets
  • Building lab equipment and software infrastructure for neural engineering experiments
  • Python and Matlab based data analysis
  • Communicate results via publications, conference proceedings, and academic conferences

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics or related fields
  • Expertise in Python and Matlab programming
  • Previous published first author work in areas related to brain machine interfaces
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of scientists and students

Desired Qualifications*

  • Substantial experience in the regulatory pipeline for neural devices.
