Summary

The College of Pharmacy's Marketing and Communications team is seeking a Graphic Design and Web Manager to join our diverse and dynamic team.  You will directly report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and would collaborate with IT. We are looking to grow our marketing team with someone who wants to visually tell the College of Pharmacy story across all media - from print and digital to the website and social media with the goal of motivating and entertaining our stakeholders to regularly engage with us and utilize these channels as key sources for information. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and can conceptualize, translate, and execute that into marketing collateral and assets, whether that is (but not limited to) a landing page, gif, email, or brochure. The College of Pharmacy is in the process of a website redesign, and you will play a key role in offering design suggestions to the developer and in the project management to ensure it is launched on time and within budget. This role will consist of on-site responsibilities and the option for remote work as mutually agreed upon.

Responsibilities*

Website Management and Digital Content: Create, Update, Maintain (40%) 

  • Develop and update content across the College's digital properties consult with content experts as needed.  
  • Facilitate the new website redesign and serve as the lead project manager through to completion. The current website is on Drupal, but upcoming redesign will move to WordPress.
  • Upon launch of the new website, responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and updates to the website managing and performing activities to enhance the value including (but not limited to) designing and adding content to pages, creating new pages and landing pages, adding and updating events, making directory updates, editing technical SEO elements, etc. 
  • Work collaboratively with the website vendor to ensure speed, security, accessibility, forms, and all other plug-ins are up to date and in working order. 
  • Use GA4, Search Console, and Sprout Social to inform and share web analytics and offer enhancements to continually improve the site.
  • Ensure that all content updates are made in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must align with graphics standards of the University and remain compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities) and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).

Multimedia Design (40%)

  • Design and deliver all College of Pharmacy multimedia communications to communicate our story/message visually and contextually.   
  • Design and develop digital and print content across all formats and channels (static and animated graphics, gifs, brochures, magazine, view-book, programs, templates, emails, paid/display ads, etc.) across various platforms such as the web, video, audio, and social media (including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), incorporating best design practices.
  • Clearly communicate and present original concepts and designs for projects and campaigns.
  • Create, design, and maintain eye-catching graphics and images for College's digital signage, including events, directory, wayfinding, and web feeds from outside the school, including campus emergency alerts, campus bus system, and weather.

Project Management (20%)

  • Manage multiple graphic design and web site design projects at once, communicating status, and ensuring on-time delivery/execution.

Skills You Have

  • Strong eye for translating complex technical information into visual content
  • Proficient writing, proofreading, and image and video editing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS systems: Drupal, working knowlesge of HTML and SSS, designing for email software: Constant Contact or similar 
  • Strong knowledge of design tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva (a plus) 
  • Strong knowledge of desiging for organic and paid social, display 
  • Strong understanding of Search Engine Optomization (SEO) tactics and best practices
  • Sprout Social Analytics, GA4, and Search Console -Monitor, analyze, and optimize social media performance
  • Knowledge of ADA and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field
  • 2-5 years of web content experience, managing, and maintaining websites as well as, working in graphic design across all media formats and channels
  • 5+ years of experience working with WordPress or other content management systems and Adobe Suite

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working in higher education.
  • 5+ Years experience in graphic design/web management
  • Marketing to a consumer audience - students, faculty, alumni, donors
  • Comfort working with all levels including senior members of the College of Pharmacy.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
