Summary

You will manage a portfolio of events as a member of the event operations pillar.  Your primary responsibilities will include establishing event planning teams, identifying timelines, and managing each event team's planning progress throughout multiple stages of the event planning, leading weekly team meetings, and providing data analysis for annual planning. Your work would critically impact the success of our full University and Development Events (UDE) team and all of our ceremonial, development, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and presidential events.

Responsibilities*

  • 65% Project, Event, and Operations Management - Including managing a complex portfolio of ~70 events annually. Develop implementation plans and timelines for projects. Ensure all event planning deadlines are met throughout the planning phases of an event or negotiate needed exceptions/changes.
  • 20% Survey Creation and Time Reporting analysis - Including developing surveys for post-event feedback using Qualtrics and analyzing survey responses for reporting event impact to the event sponsor and our event planning team.
  • 10% Leadership - Including event planning team meetings (including twice weekly full UDE team and individual planning team meetings)  to discuss the progress of the 150+ events being planned annually.
  • 5% Communications and Special Projects - you will have a responsibility to develop and share knowledge for the betterment of our strategic event experiences. The work of our team is dependent upon a engaged and skilled team.

Required Qualifications*

  • 3+ years experience in project management, administration, events, or data analysis.
  • Experience working in a collaborative/team setting.
  • Accomplish responsibilities with independence, initiative, and judgment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software, including expert experience with Excel. 
  • Value the importance of building relationships with our constituents (students, parents, donors, and alumni).
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Note:

  • Your work will involve work demands outside of normal work week and business hours and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel may be required and may occur any time of the year, including holidays.
  • Staff events as needed.
