Responsibilities*

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Department of Systems, Leadership, and Populations seeks a Research Assistant who will assist the Principle Investigator (PI) focusing on Written Exposure Therapy for Nurses. The Research Assistant will (1) become PEERRS certified; (2) recruit and enroll study participants; (3) conduct participant interview; (4) work on data management and analysis; (5) attend regular study team meetings; (6) assist with other duties as assigned or required or research projects.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants must be preferably in the fields of nursing or public health. The students must be available for weekly meetings. The student should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), CANVA, and a willingness to learn data analysis software such has N-Vivo. The student should exhibit attention to detail, an interest in research and the topic, an ability to work independently and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.

Supervision is received from the PI.

Desired Qualifications*

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from a college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience in public health and health promotion in minority populations.
  • Software knowledge: SPSS, Excel, Word and PPT
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to recieve and convey informtaion clearly and concisely for various mediums.
  • Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Candidate must have excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • An understandking of scientific research, medical, and research terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently with miminal supervision with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Qualtrics, RedCap, and qualitative software (ATLAS, NVivo) preferred.
  • Deomstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolutino skills with analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Deomstrated ability to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to serve diverse populations.
