Summary

Must be eligible for Work Study Summer 2024. This is a position with an off campus agency. The Development Assistant will interact with other members of the development team with a focus on performing basic duties including administrative, fundraising, and food drive assistance connected to the responsibilities of the department.

Responsibilities*

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate and current records and logistics for food drives, third party events, and community engagement activities in department files
  • Promote food and fund drives and provide support to individuals, community groups and organizations to maximize the available peer-to-peer fundraising pages as a source of viable revenue
  • Assist with the timely recognition of all donors, volunteers, and community groups engaged in development activities as needed
  • Support the Development Department in the planning and execution of all fundraising and organizational events
  • Support the Development Department by working with other departments (marketing and communications, operations, programs, finance, etc.) to collect accurate data
  • Support the Development Department by conducting prospect research
  • Support marketing objectives by providing updates to website, e-mail blasts, and social networking as assigned
  • Know and adhere to organizational policies and procedures, and work as an integral member of the development team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work is performed in an office environment for day-to-day duties with desk work and computer usage to organize development activities and events to raise money to support the mission. Work hours in development can vary in relation to events, food drives, and outside activities throughout the community and may involve evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications*

  • Reliable transportation. 
  • High level of organization skills. 
  • Able to take initiative on projects. 
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and other basic computer software. 
  • Self-motivated with drive to successfully complete work assignments on time. 
  • Ability to organize and multitask projects to ensure compliance with due dates and deadlines. 
  • Ability to work effectively across departments with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, and ages.

Desired Qualifications*

Previous work with data entry preferred.
