Responsibilities*

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN) seeks a temporary Research Assistant II to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) on a research project. The Research Assistant II will be responsible for online data collection which will involve neuropsychological assessments, such as tests of processing speed and data entry and analysis, literature reviews and synthesis.

Required Qualifications*

  • Undergraduate degree in nursing, neuroscience, psychology or a related health science field.
  • Passion for research in nursing science and in cognitive neuroscience or neuropsychology or psychology, as well as to working with patients with neurocognitive disorders clinical settings (e.g., persons with traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis and mild cognitive impairment).
  • Demonstrated ability of working independently and reliably, as well as responsiveness to research ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.
  • Ability to work collaborativley as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and conscientious.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent data management skills and proficient data analysis skills using SPSS.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and critical appraisal skills.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's degree completed or in progress or PhD degree in progress.
  • Experience with conducting research from conception through to dissemination.
  • Experience in randomized controlled trials.
  • Relevant experience related to the respective topics within the two projects (such as cognitive functioning, neuropsychological assessments).
  • Ability to adjere to data protection when dealing with confidential, clinical, and research materials, as well as being mindful about topics related to ethics in research and patient protection.
  • Fluency in Arabic (native or full professional proficiency).
