Responsibilities*

  • Deliver the Right Product, Right Quantity, Right Place, and Right Time, with exceptional service, to meet clinical needs.
  • Manages supply chain product and information flows from procurement through distribution to support clinical requirements.
  • Ensure that supplies are ordered, received and inventoried on a timely and effective basis to maintain and improve service levels while minimizing inventory on hand.
  • Ensure the integrity of information in the various systems utilized by the supply chain team is correct, and optimally configured to accomplish the supply chain objectives.
  • Interface with supplier representatives on such matters as backorders, consignment levels, invoice accuracy and shipping performance.   Ensure that all issues are addressed on a timely basis.
  • Identify, implement and maintain lean / continuous improvement initiatives, with an unrelenting commitment to improving the value of the products and services provided by the supply chain team.  Smartly leverage technology as an enabler of improvements, and effectively collaborate across the health system to enable change.
  • Provide direction to assigned cycle counter(s), and work with them to consistently reduce variation and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Configure optimum OR inventory plans and execution for assigned categories – locations, racking, labeling, flow, PAR levels, lead time, material flow.
  • Track and achieve assigned supply chain goals / key performance indicators. 
  • Establish relationships, maintain effective communication and collaborate with clinicians and leadership teams.
  • Support the UMHS OR supply chain team on projects, initiatives and other tasks as needed.
  • Participate in health system wide initiatives when appropriate.
  • Cross-train in multiple supply chain areas to cover additional / different supply chain responsibilities when needed.
  • Candidates at the Intermediate level will be expected to conduct the above responsibilities at an advanced level with little to no supervision, only referring the most complex issues to higher levels of leadership.  
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications*

Associate Level Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a Supply Chain related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Basic excel skills for data analysis

Intermediate Level Qualification

  • 2+ years of experience in a related Supply Chain position
  • Demonstrated lean / continuous improvement experience.
  • Demonstrated success achieving supply chain goals.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, and a strong aptitude for technology and data analytics.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates qualified for the Associate and Intermediate level must possess:

  • Demonstrated commitment to details and follow-up.
  • Basic understanding of material flow, information analysis and electronic inventory.
  • Experience with problem solving, resolution and root cause analysis
  • Proactive about continuous learning and improvement
  • Team first mentality. 

 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Working knowledge of Peoplesoft

Supervision Received: Reports to Supply Chain Manager or Supervisor

Supervision Exercised:  None

Will need to lift supplies weighing up to 25lbs

Up to 2/3 of workday is standing work

Background Screening
