Summary

The School of Nursing (UMSN), Undergraduate Program is recruiting nursing professionals with clinical experience in the area of medical/surgical nursing. Multiple labs are open (Tuesday, 11:30 am - 2:30 pm (2 sections); Tuesday, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm (two sections); and Wednesday, 3:00 -- 6:00pm) for a total of 83.33% FTE (2 credits/lab for a total of 10 credits).


N233 - Health Assessment Lab
Engaged learning and diverse simulated clinical experiences will be used to create opportunities to integrate the knowledge and skills necessary for history taking, physical and psychosocial examination. Students will practice assessing physiological systems, using therapeutic communication to examine cognition, affect, social and cultural determinants of health, lifespan development, and functional status. Communication is stressed as critical to effective assessment. Students will work towards integrating knowledge about assessment into practice using a variety of innovative strategies.
 

This position includes classroom and/or lab teaching that will take place in the Clinical Learning Center of the School of Nursing.
 

NOTE: This appointment is for Fall 2024 only and is located at Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Required Qualifications*

*A Master's degree required.
*Preference will be given to applicants who have both didactic and clinical teaching experience and content expertise in obstetrics in an in-patient setting.
*A nursing license in the State of Michigan is required for this position (current licensure or willingness to obtain licensure).
*Prior to start date must be in compliance with all health requirements including standard precautions such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, orientations, licenses/certifications, policies and procedures both internal and external to the University for your assigned classroom(s) and/or clinical site(s).
