Summary

The University of Michigan Law School's Admissions Office is looking for a professional to join its two-person graduate admissions team within its office of 12. The graduate admissions team is responsible for the recruitment and admission of applicants to its LLM program, which is targeted toward students who have earned a law degree outside the United States. The Admissions Office, located within the iconic Law Quadrangle buildings, is a fast-paced work environment staffed by a tight-knit, friendly team that shares the goal of recruiting and admitting smart, well-rounded law students.

Responsibilities*

- Use an in-house computing system to efficiently process approximately 500 to 650 Law School admission applications for the LLM program
- Update and ensure accuracy of data in internal office records, the University's central computing system, and the Law School Admission Council's Unite system
- Generate and send communications to prospective students via MailChimp and other email systems
- Coordinate with the University's International Center to process documentation for incoming students' US visa applications
- Email applicants directly with information about their statuses for their admission applications and visa application documentation
- Prepare and submit expense reports
- General clerical duties as needed, including occasional assistance with reception desk
- Other duties as assigned
 

Required Qualifications*

- A high school diploma or equivalent and two to five years of applicable experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Data entry experience, including familiarity with Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and successfully meet deadlines
- Ability to work with accuracy and speed 
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

Desired Qualifications*

- Bachelor's degree and experience as a productive team member in a fast-paced admissions office, student service office, or other academic service unit
- Familiarity with international student services or US visa application process
- High level experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, including letter generation and data manipulation
- Competency using M-Pathways or equivalent (e.g., PeopleSoft) for student administration functions
- Experience using LSAC's Unite or ACES2, Dropbox, and Google products (Gmail, Google Calendar, etc.)
- Enthusiasm for technology and technological solutions
