Responsibilities*
Primary cell culture, molecular cell biology techniques, maintaining databases, experimental records and more. Familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation as well as record keeping is necessary.
Required Qualifications*
- A Bachelor's degree in a biological science or health sciences field and one to three years of research laboratory experience is essential for the Associate level.
- A Master's degree in a biological science or health sciences field and four to five years of research laboratory experience required for the Intermediate level.
- Preference will be given to those with expertise in cell culture. Additional lab experience in molecular bology, molecular genetics, or biochemistry and a proven ability to execute routine laboratory techniques proficiently is desired.
- Proficiency in English, a strong work ethic, computer skills (word processing, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet software) and excellent communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- A commitment to this position of at least two years.

- Flexibility to occasionally work non-traditional hours to complete experiments and meet deadlines.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
