Job Summary
The Director of Operations for the Michigan Volleyball program should be a highly organized and personable individual to provide logistical and administrative support for the coaches, staff, and student-athletes. This position will be involved with all aspects of the Michigan women's volleyball program. This position requires and individual who can communicate effectively with a variety of different audiences and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Responsibilities*
Essential Functions
- Oversee scheduling and operation of team practices, visiting team logistics, and home game logistics.
- Manage team schedule, communication, and organization using Teamworks.
- Oversee and communicate all team travel logistics such as transportation, accommodations, and meals for a 30+ person travel party.
- Provide logistical support for coaches recruiting travel.
- Manage daily logistics of meals, team operations, and staff needs.
- Create and maintain the volleyball operation budget, and oversee all purchases and contractual agreements as it pertains to the volleyball program.
- Provide administration support for camps/clinics and associated budgets.
- Serve as a point of contact for the following departments:
- Ticket Office.
- Equipment Manager/Apparel Provider.
- Facilities Managers.
- Marketing.
- Event Management.
- Travel Office.
- Media Relations.
- Information Technology.
- Compliance Office.
- Nutrition Staff
- Alumni Relations
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Head Coach.

Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics.
- Must work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff within Michigan Athletics and the UM community.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess excellent computer and technical skills.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis during the volleyball season
Desired Qualifications*
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Modes of Work
Onsite: The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
