Interview Timeline and Structure

We will be conducting Round 1 (Phone) Interviews, Round 2 (Zoom) Interviews, and Round 3 (Skills Assessment) through February and March, with an anticipated start date in late April.

Salary and work location

This is an intermediate-level position with a salary range of $70,000 - $75,000. Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results while ensuring equity on the team.

Our office is located at 309 Maynard Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This position has the option to work on-site or hybrid (both remote and on-site) with the expectation that they will attend, at minimum,  in-person quarterly all-staff retreats and team planning sessions.

You will report to the Director and Assistant Director of Advancement Business Solutions.

Specific responsibilities include:

As the Business Solutions Analyst Intermediate, you will... 

  • Build a comprehensive understanding of Advancement's business and processes across all teams.
  • Write complex SQL queries, build ad hoc reports, and design data visualizations.
  • Lead and conduct data analysis that informs strategic direction. 
  • Identify and participate in data integrity projects; develop, run, and analyze audit reports to ensure the health of LSA's alumni and donor data.
  • Consult with teams across Advancement and the college as a subject matter expert. 
  • Develop and maintain positive and meaningful relationships through your interactions with Advancement colleagues and strategic partners.

Required Qualifications*

Here are the things you already have: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience working as a business intelligence or data analyst or similar.
  • Working knowledge of business productivity tools (Excel and Google Spreadsheets - perform complex functions and macros).
  • Proven ability in developing complex Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to retrieve, analyze, and understand large data sets.
  • Experience with databases, reporting, and data visualization software (Tableau preferable).
  • Experience in data management and manipulation, including data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Experience working with confidential data.
