Job Summary

The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers financial and human resource transaction services to customers.

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Billing Supervisor,   You will be responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions received by the SSC and completing all associated tasks.  You will be tasked with sponsored program research billing work within Accounts Receivable.

Work Location:

Because occasional on-site presence may be required, you are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Ann Arbor. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

Responsibilities*

  • You will maintain sponsored customer records
  • You will monitor, compile, and process sponsored research billings by required due dates
  • Provide guidance to units or customers by answering questions and addressing issues as they arise
  • You will keep research teams, internal partners (i.e. Sponsored Programs) and the Sponsored Supervisor informed about complications that may result in invoice rejections
  • Partner with Sponsored Collections colleagues on billing-related matters
  • Review and compile credit memorandums

Required Qualifications*

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience providing customer service
  • Intermediate level proficiency with data entry and computer skills
  • 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
