Job Summary

The primary focus of this Research Laboratory Specialist Associate position is to design, develop, and optimize different immunoassay experiments for a microfluidic device for chemical/biological detection. The candidate is expected to conduct, analyze and report on experiments to develop new automated ELISA microfluidic chips from feasibility through validation.

**Please Note:  This is a part-time position (20% appt./8 hours per week)

Responsibilities*

Design, develop and characterize microfluidic-based sensors for performing multiple assays.
Performs a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure compounds in biological matrices, especially sweat.
Working and handling human perspiration.
Integrate the microfluidic device with /LFA product.
Prepares reports and SOPs related to the experiments performed.

Required Qualifications*

Masters with 2+ years experience.
Prior experience in transdermal drug delivery through electrophoresis.
Experience in the design and development of immunoassays for ELISA/LFIA.
Expertise in building POC microfluidics for mixing, metering, and other fluidic manipulation.
Experience handling biological fluids especially sweat/perspiration for analysis.

Desired Qualifications*

Knowledge in COMSOL/general purpose simulation software for fluid flow analysis.
Experience /knowledge of lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) is a plus.
Self-Motivated with Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
 

Work Locations

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.  Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Additional Information

**Note: This is a one year term-limited position with the possibility of extension based on need and funding.
