Job Summary

The Office of Graduate Programs is seeking a Clerk A. Applicants must be currently enrolled students at the University of Michigan-Flint to be eligible for the position. Preference given to those students with Work Study funding as part of their financial aid package.

Responsibilities*

  • Monitor the office email inbox and prepare application documents for processing (including scanning, pdf creation and verification of Engish language test scores).
  • Process incoming postal mail and prepare outgoing inquiry mail.
  • May occasionally assist with incoming calls and greeting visitors.
  • Occasional outreach/phone calls to prospective students.
  • Performs additional clerical or administrative support duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

Must be a current University of Michigan-Flint student in good academic standing. Preference given to those students with Work Study funding as part of their financial aid package.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Basic proficiency with Google Applications, MS Office Suite, Google Drive, and general keyboarding.
  • Must exhibit attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Exercises independent judgement through employing basic reasoning skills.

Multiple positions may be available depending on schedule. Consideration and interviews will begin immediately until the office schedule is filled.

Modes of Work

Onsite

The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
