Job Summary

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan is hiring a Assistant Professor to conduct clinical research in neurological populations. The candidate will engage in team-based research as well as lead research studies in collaboration with the lab principal investigator, Anna Kratz. The candidate should have skills and experience that will enable them to fulfill the following roles and responsibilities: generate novel research questions, develop study protocols, oversee research staff in executing study protocols, conduct basic to advanced data analyses, generate research reports, disseminate data in peer reviewed publications and at scientific conferences, and write research grants to support ongoing and new lines of research. The candidate must have a PhD or doctoral-level training in their field, preferably with a degree in kinesiology, physical therapy, or another rehab-related field. Clinical experience with neurological populations is preferred but not required. 

Required Qualifications*

The ideal candidate should have a PhD, and two years experience in a National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) Postdoctoral Fellowship. The ideal candidate should have a 
background in Kinesiology with a focus in Neurorehabilitation and Biomechanics. Candidate must have experience with Neurologic Physical Therapy. Candidate must have experience working on research and grants related to fall prevention using new technologies among people with neurologic conditions such as people with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and Parkinson's disease.
