Job Summary
The Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Michigan invites applications for a part-time (33.33%) Lecturer I position starting in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be an active part of our community and will positively contribute to our academic educational mission and excellence.

Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching Women's and Gender Studies courses at any assigned level.
- Course assignment(s) will depend on expertise and interest of the candidate, as well as departmental needs.
- Pending course size, instruction and mentorship of teaching teams (including supervision of Graduate Student Instructors).
- Contribution to curriculum development and continuous course improvements.
Required Qualifications*
Candidates must hold an advanced degree in Women's Studies, Gender Studies, and/or Sexuality Studies.
Established expertise in Women's Studies, Gender Studies, and/or Sexuality Studies.
Experience teaching courses at the college level.
Desired Qualifications*
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching large courses and experience working with teaching teams.
Given potential for a supervisory role with graduate students, preference will be given to individuals who hold a Ph.D. or equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and education, as well as a strong motivation to improve the educational experience and engage students in experiential learning. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute through their teaching to the breadth and excellence of the academic community.

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
