Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product and System Strategist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of IT Systems and Services, you will be focused (50%) on managing the migration of content from one Learning Management System (LMS) platform to another, ensuring the selection of options for technologies to enhance learning, course design, and other critical components. The remaining responsibilities (50%) involve defining system scope and goals through research and fact-finding, contributing to the development or modification of moderately complex information systems, and supporting additional business operations. You will prepare detailed specifications for program development, analyze and revise system logic, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Responsibilities*

  • Content & Platform Management: Oversee the transition and organization of digital content across platforms, ensuring all course design and technology decisions enhance the learning experience.
  • Quality Assurance & Optimization: Recruit and manage a QA team, delegate tasks for testing, and gather actionable feedback to improve content delivery and platform performance. Ensure quality and consistency across all materials.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Align content and platform updates with stakeholder goals, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and user satisfaction. Propose key success metrics and feature enhancements based on user needs.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Streamline workflows and integration processes to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and optimize platform performance.
  • Technical Oversight & Documentation: Document and address updates affecting community tools, third-party integrations, and primary learning and assessment platforms. Apply relevant testing methodologies, such as Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE), to ensure system reliability and functionality.

Required Qualifications*

  • Must have a master's degree in Information, engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have a working knowledge of SQL and Python and be able to speak to your experience in a cover letter.
  • Experience building a Jupyter notebook.
  • Experience documenting processes in a CMS such as Drupal or WordPress, indicate which CMS(s) in your cover letter. 
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms Coursera, Vocareum, Canvas, and experience with content migration between systems.

Work Schedule

Punctual and regular attendance is required. Will require working during non-business hours and on weekends.

Work Locations

May require travel to multiple locations on and off campus. The main office workspace for this position is located in NorthQuad.

Modes of Work

This is a hybrid position. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This is a three-year term-limited role at 50% FTE depending on workload. The job may be expanded to 100% FTE depending on the scope of work. The job may be extended after three years depending on performance, funding, and need.

The salary range for this position is $41,000 to $45,000 ($82,000 - $90,000 Full-time rate). Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results while ensuring equity on our team.
