Department Overview
Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) plays an integral role in the success of Michigan Medicine by providing clinicians, educators, researchers, students, and staff with exceptional technology-related information, products, services, and support.
Division Overview
The HITS Clinical & Revenue Cycle IT (CRC) division is responsible for more than 350 clinical and revenue cycle applications that clinicians, staff, and patients rely upon every day. The CRC team has subdivisions that support inpatient, ambulatory, departmental, and revenue cycle areas across Michigan Medicine (MM). CRC also oversees many of the major IT platforms and applications such as the electronic health record, virtual care, pharmacy, radiology, radiation oncology, registration, document management, billing, and much more. The CRC team is highly relied upon across the healthcare system and collaborates with operational partners to provide excellent service to the MM staff. Staff within CRC often interact with customers on a regular basis by implementing and configuring workflows, enhancements, optimizations, and new modules or software while also ensuring adequate change control and testing processes occur. Team members work on a vast array of projects that propel MM into the future.
Job Summary
Health Information Technology and Services at University of Michigan Health is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in Pharmacy Informatics to join our Pharmacy Informatics & Technology team. This position will primarily support Epic Willow Inpatient. You will report to the Assistant Director of Medication Use Informatics and Technology and be a part of an exciting expansion of pharmacy services for our patients. We have a diverse team of analysts and clinical pharmacists who support technology solutions for the pharmacy at our institution.
The Department of Pharmacy are rapidly growing, and our team is playing a significant role in installing, supporting, and optimizing pharmacy systems to support patient care activities.
Responsibilities*
- Perform build and maintenance of orders and order sets within Epic Willow Inpatient for various pharmacy locations
- Participate in multidisciplinary workgroups and committees to ensure electronic health records are compliant with current practices, guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Work with third party vendors to integrate key data into Epic Willow build
- Manage projects (upgrades, new implementations) as needed
Required Qualifications*
- Licensure in good standing, or immediate eligibility for licensure, as a registered pharmacist in the state of Michigan.
- Doctor of pharmacy degree or Master and/or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy with one-year residency or equivalent clinical experience.
Desired Qualifications*
- Completion of PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency
- Experience implementing IT healthcare solutions
- Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare information regulations and requirements
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations
- Experience with Epic Willow Inpatient and Clarity
Work Locations
This position is being made available with the ability for you to negotiate alternative work schedules and remote/on-site options to suit your work-life balance. You may be required to attend onsite meetings and conduct in person training once conditions allow which will require the ability to be on-site.
