Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost and Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, you will serve as an administrative partner providing executive level support. This position is integral to operations, assisting with calendar and meeting preparation, project management, travel coordination and expense reconciliation, and responding to emails on the AVP/ED's behalf. You will serve as a liaison to campus units, independently communicates and partners with internal and external constituents such as U-M schools and colleges, Government Relations, the President's Office, and others on admissions-related matters.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M's enrollment function to efficiently optimize students' experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. Responsibilities*

  • Provides high-level administrative support to the AVP/ED, managing confidential and mission-critical projects, resolving issues, and partnering with leadership as needed.
  • Manages complex calendars, schedules meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and collaborates with administrative staff across departments.
  • Drafts and supports communications, including emails, presentations, and sensitive correspondence. Assists with speech preparation and ensures organized record-keeping.
  • Coordinates domestic and international travel, handling reservations, itinerary changes, and expense reconciliation.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by coordinating executive officer, faculty, and speaker invitations. Assists with application review processes and appeal communications with applicants, parents, alumni, faculty, and university officials.
  • Acts as an administrative liaison for special projects, committees, and external organizations. Coordinates workshops, conferences, and other programs for Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Provides backup support to the Executive Assistant for the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of university policies, protocols, and regulations to provide guidance and support to executives, faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience to an executive-level individual
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google collaboration tools
  • Working knowledge of Zoom and/or other video conferencing tools. 
  • Knowledge of higher education with respect to admissions activities and programs

Work Locations

This position is fully onsite, requiring 5 days a week in the office at the Ann Arbor Campus at the office of Enrollment Management.
